John Deere Co.’s problems with its Gator Utility Vehicle, continues. In January, the company recalled Gators because they pose a fire hazard. A press release by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission noted that the specific hazard is fuel line separation.
Models recalled are the John Deere Gator RSX850i Base, support and trail model recreation vehicle manufactured between May and October in 2012.
These vehicles have side by side seating for two (2) people. They are available in models called Real Tree and Hardwoods HD Camo, olive and black or traditional green and yellow. The symbol RSX850i is located on the hood.
Serial numbers appear on the rear frame above the receiver hitch. Specific serial numbers are involved in the recall. A concerned person’s serial number should be compared against the recall models.
Deere reported three (3) separated fuel lines and fires, so far without injuries.
Consumers were cautioned to stop using the recalled vehicles until they are repaired. If you or someone you know was injured in any way due to an accident involving the John Deere Gator RSX850i Base model contact us today.
