A recent Lincoln Journal Star article reported that the Nebraska Supreme Court declined to hear a case involving TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline. The case challenges the constitutionality of LB 1161- the decision giving Gov. Dave Heineman the power of the pipeline route instead of the Nebraska Public Service Commission. Governor Heineman, DEQ Director Mike Linder and State Treasurer Don Stenberg were named as defendants. Since the Supreme Court declined to hear the case, the case will be heard in Lancaster County District Court. To read the story in full, view Supreme Court Says No to Pipeline Case.
