David Domina was one of the attorneys representing billionaire businessman Matty Moroun and top aide Dan Stemper. Mr. Domina and co-counsel Rodger Young explained to the three-judge appeals council in Detroit that their clients were not given their due process rights. According to the argument Domina and Young presented, the Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Prentis Edwards gave no notice to the defendants that they could have been jailed and did not allow for action to "purge" contempt and be released from jail. Moroun and Stemper were originally jailed for contempt after their bridge company failed to complete a particular project.
