In a recent news article, journalist Chris Clayton wrote of David A. Domina of Domina Law Group pc llo and his fight for fair prices and more transparency in the livestock and packing industry. The Obama administration recently proposed additions to livestock competition rules in conjunction with the 2008 farm bill. Although many in the industry are unhappy about the new rules, and even asked for an extension before the rules were implemented, Mr. Domina states his belief that these rules are neither unusual nor complicated. Mr. Domina also stated that "Unless your point of view is there should be no cash market…if transparency in price and no preferences among producers for buddy-buddy deals seem like fair concepts to you, then there is no controversy in these rules."
