Domina Law Group's Homicide Defense Experience
David Domina has successfully won 9 of 9 homicide cases and many other complex criminal cases during the course of his career. Domina is not a classic “criminal lawyer.” His practice is complex litigation. White collar crime, and complex violent crime involving circumstantial evidence, can require enormous focus and substantial expertise.
Mr. Domina’s criminal defenses have ranged from bank examination and accounting, to ballistics, virology, serology, microbiology, and other scientific endeavors.
Mr. Domina has twice defended crimes alleging kidnapping or murder where no body, and no overt crime scene, could be established, but public opinion was dramatically against his client. One of the cases was featured twice on the long-running CBS series 60-Minutes.
Mr. Domina’s willingness to handle complex matters, including criminal matters, vaulted him to center stage when Nebraska’s Attorney General became embroiled in controversy in the mid-1980s. Acting as Special Attorney General, Mr. Domina was responsible for investigating public officials, including the then-incumbent and previous governor, virtually all state constitutional officers, and the Attorney General. As a result, impeachment proceedings were brought for the second time in Nebraska’s history (the first time since 1870). Later a criminal prosecution against the former Attorney General, who had been removed from office, was also conducted.
